Dr Alexander Erwin

Growing up near Chicago and attending college and dental school at West Virginia University, Dr. Alexander Erwin made his way to lay roots in sunny San Diego, California. Treating patients from many walks of life since he began his career in 2014, Dr. Erwin simply loves keeping smiles pain-free and healthy. Now he leads the team at Alexander Erwin, DDS, where he can use his experience to treat patients with their best interest at heart. The ability to help a patient when they're in severe pain and improve smiles are some of Dr. Erwin’s favorite parts of dentistry. Dr. Alexander Erwin was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, but raised to love the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Cubs in Batavia, Illinois — a suburb of Chicago. After high school, Dr. Erwin received an athletic scholarship to play soccer at West Virginia University, where he was part of the WVU’s Big East Championship winning team in 2006 and NCAA Sweet 16 qualifying team in 2007. After completing a degree in Biology (B.S.) Cum Laude in 2010, Dr. Erwin was accepted to the WVU Doctorate of Dental Surgery program and finished his degree in 2014. Dr. Erwin’s experience practicing dentistry brought him diverse background that lends itself to the comprehensive and compassionate approach to care he brings to Alexander Erwin, DDS. After working in a federal prison, a pediatric office, and other private practices, Dr. Erwin is excited to lead the team and provide high-quality dentistry in Solana Beach. Outside of the practice, Dr. Erwin keeps active by continuing to play soccer in the local rec league, bike riding, and skiing. He loves hiking and golfing, as well as spending time with his 2 large Great Pyrenees dogs. Dr. Erwin also often plays his guitar, enjoys woodworking projects, and has quite the green thumb in the garden!
