Dr. Hua Zhu was the 1st student in history at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine to achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA for her first 2 years of studies. She was recognized by winning the Dr. William S. Kramer Award of Excellence, the highest honor for a dental student bestowed by Omicron Kappa Upsilon the National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Zhu became a clinical assistant professor immediately after her graduation in 2004, the 1st time in history the professorship was offered to a new graduate. Dr. Zhu was selected for the “Nationally Ranked top 10 Dental Award" from National Academy for Dental Professionals in 2014, as well as: American College of Prosthodontists Award Northeastern Society of Periodontics, Inc. Award American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award Academy of Dental Materials Award Frank Frates Outstanding Clinician Award Graduate Merit Award from Executive Women of New Jersey America’s Top Dentists from Consumer’s Research Council of America in 2009. Dr. Zhu is known for her “magic hands” and gentle touch to relax even the most fearful patients. She prioritizes a patient's smile and well-being above all else. In her free time, she enjoys practicing taichi, running with friends, playing the guzheng (Chinese harp), and she is currently training for a Triathalon!
