Before becoming a dentist, I spent my childhood growing up on a dairy farm in Tifton, Georgia. I moved to Rock Hill when I was 18 years old to attend Winthrop University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1989 with a B.S. in Biology. I attended the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Dental Medicine and graduated as First Honor graduate (class rank #1) in 1993. During dental school, I received the United States Air Force Senior Dental Student Scholarship. Upon graduation, I reported to David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA to receive my post-graduate training in “Advanced Education in General Dentistry “(AEGD). Here I received intense training in all areas of general dentistry to include implants, I.V. sedation, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, dentures, partial dentures, crowns, bridges, root canals, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and hospital dentistry. I completed my 3 years of service as a General Dentist in the USAF at Charleston Air Force Base in Charleston, SC. I moved back to Rock Hill in 1996 to join Dr. George Hook to form Willis and Hook Dental Associates. In 2011, Dr. Mark Espinal joined the practice to form Carolinas Center for Advanced Dentistry.
