On the wall in her parents’ home was a page Dr Nancy drew in first grade. This simple drawing shows “Good Teeth and Bad Teeth,” which just goes to show that she has been interested in smiles for a long time! Beautiful, healthy smiles with ‘good teeth’ gives us the confidence we need in our everyday lives. Dr. Bouchard is passionate about caring for you, our patients, with compassion and outstanding treatment. She empowers you to achieve your goals of health and beauty in your smile in a comfortable, happy atmosphere. The joy that it brings her and her team causes us to sometimes break out in spontaneous dance or song! Hurricane Ian not only changed our address but brought Integrative Dental Medicine into our scope of care. Your mouth is not just teeth, gums, and a smile, but a window to your whole-body health. We provide saliva tests to find any bad bacteria that cause harmful inflammation that hurt hearts, brains, arteries, and everything in between. There are also signs in your mouth which indicate an airway / breathing problem. We have a simple home sleep study screening tool, the WatchPAT One, to learn more about possible risks. Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Bouchard attended quite a few colleges! She went from being a Nittany Lion at Penn State to becoming a Husky transferring to my mother’s alma mater, Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists affiliated with Northeastern University in Boston. Then off to Boston College and studying with the Eagles. Finally, she journeyed to the University of Maryland Dental School becoming a Terrapin (turtle). She moved down the food chain! As a hygienist, she worked in general, pediatric, and periodontal practices. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Dental School, she started practicing dentistry in MD before moving to Florida to care for her father, eventually opening Smiles With Care Dentistry in Fort Myers Beach. During her career, she was also a clinical instructor at Forsyth, Boston University, and Hodges University’s short-lived (sadly) dental hygiene program. After all of this, Dr Nancy is still as interested in ‘good teeth’ as she was in first grade! What a joy it is to be here, and to treat our friends and neighbors in Southwest Florida!
