She then served seven years with the Canadian Department of National Defense, practicing general dentistry with an emphasis on complete oral rehabilitation. She and her husband, Dr. Calvin Caunt of Atrium Health, have one son, Benjamin Dash. She enjoys the company of her cats, gardening, travel, and coaching the Award Winning Pi Rho Eagles Robotics Club.
