Dr. Brendan Withycombe was born and raised in Portland Oregon. From an early age, Dr. Withycombe enjoyed learning about science and creating art. While in high school, he attended a summer camp at Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry. At this camp, he found the connection between art and science that he wanted for his career. Dr. Withycombe graduated from Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry in 2023. While in school, he was awarded the National Health Service Corps scholarship. Upon graduation, he received awards from the Academy of Osseointegration and the Western Society of Periodontology. The Department of Oral Rehabilitation and Biosciences also granted him the graduating senior dental student award for demonstrating aptitude, enthusiasm, and future promise in research in oral biology. Dr. Withycombe spent the 2 years following graduation working in Leadville, CO at a public health office fulfilling his service commitment. He maintains the highest standard of care by completing extensive continuing education beyond state-mandated credits. Outside of work, Dr. Withycombe enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Caroline, and their dog Rio. Together they love being outdoors to hike, trail run, mountain bike, rock climb, and ski.
