Dr. Mike's love for his hometown and family is the driving force behind his passion for dentistry. After completing his DDS degree and undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, he knew that he wanted to return to Grand Rapids to serve the community he loves. After completing dental school, Dr. Mike joined McCoy Family Dentistry, originally founded by his father, Dr. Steven McCoy. Following Dr. Steven’s retirement, Dr. Mike purchased the practice and has proudly carried on its tradition of compassionate, patient-focused care. With a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Dr. Mike has a solid foundation in understanding oral and overall health. As an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Kent County Dental Society, West Michigan Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry, he is constantly learning and growing in his field. While dentistry is a top priority for Dr. Mike, his family always comes first. He cherishes spending time with his wife, Kerry, and their two children, Allie and Cameron. When he's not in the office, Dr. Mike can be found enjoying his favorite outdoor activities, like wakeboarding, waterskiing, hunting, and fishing. And as a die-hard fan of the University of Michigan football team, he loves nothing more than cheering them on with his family by his side.
