Dr. Tsiokos stands out in his field not only for his passion in periodontics but because of his commitment to pursuing numerous continue education courses, providing his patients the newest techniques and innovative treatments for outcome that is aesthetically superior and nearly pain free. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology with advanced training in dental implants, periodontal procedures and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Tsiokos has a gentle touch and his personality is calming and confident, perfect for the procedures he performs. He genuinely cares about his patients’ health and comfort. Dr. Tsiokos has been nominated the best periodontist of North Shore, Long Island 2017 and 2018, 2 years in a row. Also, Dr. Tsiokos was recently nominated the best Periodontist on Long Island 2019. He received his undergraduate degree in Bio-Chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook in 1992 and completed his dental degree from NYU College of Dentistry in 1997. He practiced as a general dentist for several years before finishing his post-doctoral studies in periodontics also at NYU in 2003. His experience as a general dentist prior to becoming a periodontist gives him a better overall perspective on treatment options and aesthetic outcome. He has clinical experience in such fields as orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics and pathology, making it possible to give patients a complete assessment of their oral health. Dr. Tsiokos is certified in oral sedation by DOCS Education offering an experience without anxiety and fear. Born in Greece, he came to the US at a young age. He has been happily married for over 3 years. In his free time, he enjoys hockey, skiing, astronomy, traveling and spending time with his family.
