Dr. Mayer graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Buffalo in 1997. He continued with his education and completed the accredited Advanced Specialty Education Program in Periodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School. Published in the Journal of Periodontology for his dental implant research, Dr. Mayer has also been involved in other research regarding the microbiological basis for oral diseases. He keeps abreast of the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease including the link between periodontitis and systematic diseases. Dr. Mayer practices the full scope of periodontics and implant dentistry. He is an expert in periodontal plastic surgery such as grafts for gum recession and root exposure. Dr. Mayer has a gentle touch and a very calming manner. Patient comfort is his top priority.
