Dr. Mullis completed her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1994. After graduation she enjoyed working in the “real world” before furthering her post graduate education. She matriculated the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, in 1998 and realized her life experiences enabled her to truly appreciate the importance of a post graduate degree. She entered dental school with a new found respect for value of a professional degree that she may have otherwise undervalued. While at the College of Dental Medicine she worked directly with Dr. James Edwards, the president of MUSC and former governor of South Carolina, where she helped coordinate special events and executed projects to improve the education for all students at MUSC. After graduating from dental school in 2002, Dr. Mullis worked in private practice in her hometown of Columbia, South Carolina. She was then recruited for a dental position in Greenville, South Carolina, that specialized in treating underserved children. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in pediatric dentistry and loves working with children. After 6 years in this practice, she joined forces with Dr. Carter Brown, a native of Greenville, and furthered her adult dental training with extensive courses in cosmetic, crown and bridge and implant dentistry. She worked alongside Dr. Brown, former South Carolina Dental Association President and Academy of General Dentistry President, for over 10 years. She purchased his practice from Dr. Brown and his wife, Katie, in 2016 and has continued to offer the same standard of excellence that the practice was originally founded upon. In 2022, she happily merged Creekside Dental with the locally owned dental organization, Family Dental Health. She is an excellent clinician in restorative, surgical, implant and preventative dentistry and leads her team in compassionate yet driven manner. Before the birth of her children in 2009 and 2011, she was a key director and volunteer with the South Carolina Dental Association’s (SCDA) Give Kids a Smile and Children’s Dental Health Month. Dr. Mullis was also one of the founding volunteers for the SCDA’s DAD project, (Dental Access Days). This project provides over $800,000 in donated care at its 2 sites each year in South Carolina. Dr. Mullis also served as interim faculty for the Community Based education program at MUSC and volunteered at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. She is an active member of the ADA, SCDA, Greenville County Dental Society. She attends multiple conferences every year thus expanding her continuing education in all areas of dentistry.
