Dr Jacobs was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1971. He entered the US Air Force and served as jet instructor pilot in Columbus, Mississippi. On leaving the military, he received his dental degree from the University of Mississippi on graduation in 1980. While in General Practice in Mississippi, Dr. Jacobs developed an interest in Hospital Dentistry and eventually moved to central Pennsylvania in 1986 to serve on staff at Lock Haven Hospital. He established his current family practice in 1998 while also continuing to provide hospital care for special needs patients. In addition to hospital based care, Dr. Jacobs focus has been on patients with complicated treatment needs, having attended a number of comprehensive courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute, a centre for dental excellence. Dr. Jacobs is married to his wife Melissa, an original resident of Lock Haven, who serves as office manager. His interests include autos, spectating at auto races and college football games, photography, model railroading, and their two Bichon Frise dogs, Coco and Emmie.
