I first became interested in dentistry at a young age while watching my grandfather at work. He was an Orthodontist who worked on a Navajo reservation in Monument Valley Utah. I loved seeing how he interacted with patients and genuinely cared for people beyond just their dental needs. I remember he showed models of teeth to me and described how he would move teeth to create a “perfect” smile for patients. This aspect of dentistry also intrigued me as I have a passion for designing and restoring. At Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI I earned a degree in Studies of Architecture and a minor in Chemistry. I continued to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California to earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Outside of dentistry my life revolves mostly around my family, I have 4 kids and a beautiful wife who is my high school sweetheart. In my free time I have a lot of hobbies and enjoy keeping busy with different projects. A few of the things I enjoy are camping and being outdoors in nature, golfing, tennis, racquetball, wood working, remodeling, designing and 3d printing. I chose to be a dentist because of the unique opportunity to use my natural talents/interests to provide care while being able to form lasting connections.
