Dr. Dumpert was born and raised in Bedford. After graduating from Bedford High School, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, with a major of Natural Science and minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. Dr. Dumpert then completed dental school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Dumpert has a strong desire to help those in need, and while in dental school, he was able to organize, lead, and participate in dental mission trips to Honduras three years in a row, and provide greatly needed dental care to rural Honduras. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Dumpert was selected out of hundreds of applicants to join a one-year general practice residency at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh. During his year at the residency, Dr. Dumpert worked one-on-one with specialists to further expand and improve his clinical skills. At that point in his career, Dr. Dumpert developed a passion for continuing education, and committed to stay up to date with the most innovative techniques and materials available, allowing him to provide the best care available to his patients. In July 2017, Dr. Dumpert received his Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. In June 2018, Dr Dumpert received the prestigious Mastership Award during the AGD’s convocation ceremony. Dr. Dumpert prides himself in practicing comprehensive, minimally invasive, preventive dentistry which involves identifying and addressing problems before they have the chance to grow into more extensive, and more expensive, problems. Dr. Dumpert is excited for the opportunity to return to his hometown and provide a dental home and long-term care to the community he grew up in.
