Dr. Aziz Saqr is a native Houstonian and a graduate of The Awty International School in Houston. He received his Bachelor of Science in Human Science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he pursued specialty training in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. During residency, Dr. Saqr conducted research in implant dentistry and published a surgical technique for augmenting soft tissue around dental implants, titled the Semilunar lingualized apically positioned flap (SLAP). He presented his implant research at national and regional conferences, receiving “Runner-Up” honors at the prestigious Southwest Society of Periodontics (SWSP) Prichard Research Competition in 2024. After graduation, Dr. Saqr received a certificate in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery and a Master of Science in Dentistry. He currently serves as the Communications Committee Chair in the SWSP. Dr. Saqr is a member of several professional organizations, including: Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, The American Academy of Periodontology, The Southwest Society of Periodontists, The American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, The Academy of Osseointegration. During his free time, he enjoys trying new cuisines and traveling with his wife Leila, supporting the Houston Rockets, and giving back to his community through community service.
