Dr. Tim Chauvin grew up on the Westbank of New Orleans and graduated from Archbishop Shaw High School. Upon graduating, Dr. Chauvin received an academic scholarship to attend Tulane University. During his pre-dental studies at Tulane, Dr. Chauvin was inducted into the Phi Alpha Epsilon and the Randolph Gibson Honorary Societies. In 1997, he graduated with honors from Tulane with a Bachelors Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. Dr. Chauvin continued his education at LSU School of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree. While at LSU, he was named a Balridge Scholarship recipient for having one of the top five scores on the National Dental Board Exam and was also inducted into the C. Edmunds Kells Honorary Society and the very selective Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honorary Society. Dr. Chauvin was further distinguished as the top general dentist in his graduating class and received such honors as the General Dentistry Award, the Excellence in Oral Diagnosis Award for treatment planning, and the American College of Dentists (ACD) Award for ethics and professionalism. Dr. Chauvin practiced dentistry for two years in Raceland, LA, prior to opening his own dental office in Buras, LA. His practice thrived in Buras until August 2005, when Hurricane Katrina destroyed the office and the surrounding communities. After the hurricane, Dr. Chauvin began practicing in Lafayette.
