Dr. Antonious is a board-certified Periodontist and Implant Surgeon with a passion for providing exceptional, patient-centered care. A native of Northern Orange County, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 2015. Driven by a strong interest in periodontal health, she completed her post-doctoral specialty training in Periodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she also earned a Master’s degree in Oral Science. Following her residency, Dr. Antonious joined a private periodontal and implant practice in Iowa while her husband completed his medical training. During this time, she was also recruited as part-time faculty in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Iowa, where she taught both dental students and post-doctoral residents. Dr. Antonious provides comprehensive periodontal and implant care, including treatment of periodontal disease, bone and soft tissue grafting, dental implant surgery, LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure), esthetic crown lengthening, and periodontal plastic surgery. She is committed to using minimally invasive techniques and prioritizes patient comfort and outcomes in every procedure. Her clinical expertise has been recognized in prominent publications, including contributions to Carranza’s Clinical Periodontology textbook. She has also co-authored peer-reviewed articles on periodontal disease treatment and bone grafting for implant preparation. Her research on innovative bone grafting techniques was published in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry and earned her recognition as a finalist at the prestigious Ramfjord Symposium. She was also nominated for the distinguished Dr. and Mrs. Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award for Excellence. In addition to her clinical and academic achievements, Dr. Antonious has been actively involved in leadership, service, and outreach throughout her career. She has participated in several dental mission trips and community service projects, and has served as Chief Resident and Student Ambassador for the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. Outside of the office, Dr. Antonious enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young children. She also has a love for cooking, exploring local restaurants, reading, indoor cycling, and yoga.
