Originally from Zanesville, Dr. May grew up as an avid Buckeye fan and attended Ohio State for undergrad, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology while doing research at the College of Dentistry. He was a four year member of the Ohio State University Marching Band playing trumpet. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry earning a DDS in 2011.
