At the age of 16, Dr. Perez started college and finished his undergraduate with a degree in Pre-Med from the University of Puerto Rico in 1979 and was accepted into the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry where he earned his D.M.D degree in 1983. As a distinguished dental student he was recognized in “The Dean’s List” 1982 edition. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Perez was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army in January of 1984 and served in the Dental Corps until July of 1995. During his 11½ years of active duty, Dr. Perez gained valuable clinical experience as an OR surgical assistant, completed several clinical rotations in Oral Surgery, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Endodontics. After his first tour of duty, Dr. Perez accepted an overseas assignment in Germany and was the Officer in Charge of the Strassburg Dental Clinic. During his tour in Germany, Dr. Perez served in support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm making him a veteran of the first Iraq War. In July of 1995, after an exciting military career,
