Being a dental professional is a great responsibility. I find helping my patients understand how dentistry can make their lives healthier and happier to be very rewarding. The best part of my job is getting to know my patients, many of whom have been coming to the office since I started practicing. I enjoy catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. My path to dentistry began in Topeka, where I grew up. I earned biology and chemistry degrees from Washburn University, and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1993. After graduation, my wife Patricia and I moved to Lawrence. Through the years, I have continued my education with the Spear Study Club and attended continuing education seminars. I’m an active member in the American Dental Association and the Douglas County Dental Society. Outside the office, our home is busy with four children, dogs, and cats. I work on restoring my 1969 Mustang convertible, enjoy the Lawrence Antique Auto Club, American Legion, Boy Scouts, and retired as Major from the Kansas Army National Guard.
