Dr. Wright was raised in Big Stone Gap Virginia where he went on to graduate from Virginia Tech in 1959 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his M.B.A from the University of Kentucky then continued his education at the University of Kentucky Dental School to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 1972. Dr. Wright also has served his country by serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a combat Engineer active duty 1960-1963. He remained in the military reserves and retired as a Full Colonel in the U.S. Army Dental Corps in 1996. After his service Dr. Wright went on to work for the U.S. Public Health Service from 1972-1974 while also rotating in a hospital internship. He went into private practice in 1974 as a general dentist where he started his thriving practice. He now works along side other general dentists here at The Smile Lexington.
