Dr. Rahman completed her undergraduate degree at Emory University where she obtained a B.S. in biology in 1993. She then received her dental degree (DMD) from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. Afterwards, she pursued a specialty dental degree in periodontics at Harvard University, graduating in 2000. While in residency at Harvard, she further increased her proficiency while working at the Children’s Hospital in Boston and the Forsyth Dental Center. She has won awards for her research in dental school and she published papers on implants and diabetes and also about the submandibular gland. She also became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Rahman is also a member of the American Academy of Periodontology Association, American Dental Association, and the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Rahman has taught and been in clinical practice since 2001. She taught periodontal residents, dental students, and hygienists for many years while at University of Southern California, Loma Linda University, and Fresno City College. She was also in private practice while teaching and she enjoys treating patients in both surgical and non-surgical methods. Though she ventured outside of the state for some of her studies, Dr. Rahman was born and raised in Georgia. She now lives in Johns Creek with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys singing, swimming, and gardening.
