Dr. John Mears grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and studied Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Iowa. He then went on to dental school at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013. He then practiced for a few years in his hometown before moving to Colorado in 2016 to be closer to family and enjoy the outdoors. Being from a smaller town in Wisconsin, he gained a great appreciation for how small businesses can help support a community. He has a particular passion for working with our military men and women. This passion started in the early 2000s when he and his Dad traveled around the country to different military bases to do dental screenings before their deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. Dr. Mears is honored to be supporting our local veterans through dentistry and giving to the American Legion Auxiliary here in Berthoud for every new patient we see. He is a lifelong learner of the profession and continues to attend postgraduate courses in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. Mears has extensive training and experience in endodontics, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, Invisalign, and Implant dentistry. He is a Fellow of the prestigious Implant Pathways in Phoenix, AZ, and trains doing live implant surgeries multiple times a year. In addition, he trains at the Dawson Academy for Complete Dentistry. Dr. Mears is looking forward to serving the community and is focused on providing exceptional dental care in a down-to-earth environment. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking, golfing, and walking his golden retriever, Trooper.
