Born and raised in central New Jersey, Dr. Calem attended The College of New Jersey majoring in biology and minored in chemistry. He studied dentistry at Rutgers University School of Dentistry and completed post-graduate training at Virtua Dental Center. He specialised in periodontology at Rutgers as chief resident, focusing on ridge preservation for implants. Joined the practice in 2003, proficient in periodontal and implant therapy, trained in Chao Pinhole® Surgical procedure and All-On-4®. Director of Seattle Study Club of South Jersey since 2008, former President of Southern Dental Society, and involved in community dental services.
