Dr. Corky Willhite is an Accredited Fellow in cosmetic dentistry, one of about fifty dentists in the world who have achieved this distinction. Becoming accredited in cosmetic dentistry involves passing demanding clinical and oral examinations demonstrating one’s knowledge and skill in appearance-related dentistry. To achieve fellowship status involves demonstrating those same skills in multiple cases over an extended period of time. Dr. Willhite currently serves on the faculty of the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He is also a frequent lecturer at dental meetings around the country where he teaches cosmetic dentistry techniques to other dentists. He graduated from the LSU School of Dentistry in 1979 and has continued his education to provide state-of-the-art cosmetic dental care. He received his Accreditation in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 1991 and became a Fellow in 1997. He has served as a chair for many committees and as a board member and an officer of various dental associations. His private practice, The Smile Design Center, has become limited to Cosmetic Dentistry for over 30 years. He is an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry and Biomaterials at L.S.U. School of Dentistry. He is on the faculty of the Center for Esthetic Excellence in Chicago and post-graduate esthetics programs at Eastman Dental Center and the University of Minnesota.
