Dr. Ridd is a graduate of Temple University. He then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1989. He held a General Practice Residency through the University of Pennsylvania before starting his own practice in 1993. Since then, Dr. Ridd continues to pursue the latest research and advances in dentistry. He earned the Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 1997, for completing over 500 hours of fully-accredited continuing dental education. He was later awarded the Mastership Award (MAGD), which is earned after completing an additional 600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different specialties of dentistry, 400 of which are earned through hands-on training. This places Dr. Ridd in a select group (approximately 2 percent of all dentists in the United States and Canada have achieved this level of expertise). In addition to his membership with the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Ridd is also a member of the Eastern Dental Society. He attends a variety of conferences and actively participates in several area dental study clubs. Dr. Ridd is also an original member of The Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry’s PEAK IV program. PEAK IV is a continuing education study club comprised of progressive dentists across Pennsylvania and the Northeast U.S. working towards Mastership status in the Academy. Dr Ridd, a Honesdale native, has been practicing dentistry for 34 years, 30 of which have been at his current location in Hawley, PA.
