Dr. Christie Berkseth-Rojas always knew she wanted a career in a health profession. She decided on dentistry after having an extraordinary amount of dental work completed before she was 21, including multiple major oral surgeries and braces twice. She believes her personal dental experience allows her to be particularly empathetic to her patients. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Minnesota in 2007, during which she completed two research projects in Senegal on access to oral health care and traditional dental care. She attended dental school from 2007-2011 at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. In her first four years of practice, she primarily provided dental care to elderly and special needs patients and has also worked in various community clinics, emphasizing care for underserved communities. She truly enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly oral surgery and dentures. Originally from Superior, Wisconsin, she has lived in Minneapolis since 2002. She lives with her husband, daughter, three chickens (Potato Chip, Shakira, and Ariel), and a dog. She enjoys urban farming, salsa dancing, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and learning new languages. She is passionate about recycling and composting.
