Dr Hoang

Dr. Hoang completed his Bachelor of Science at Portland State University in Portland, OR, then moved to Chapel Hill, NC, to start his healthcare career journey in the pharmacy program and explore what the East Coast had to offer. During his time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was Dr. Tran’s housemate, where they participated in multiple Mission of Mercy events. Dr. Hoang provided pharmaceutical care services, and Dr. Tran provided dental care to the underserved communities. This is where his interest in oral health care intensified as he witnessed patients’ satisfaction after treatments and wondered what it would be like to be an oral health care provider. He finished his pharmacy program with distinction and worked as a pharmacy manager for two years in North Carolina before moving back to Portland and continuing his role. While in Portland, Dr. Hoang’s uncle was diagnosed with tongue cancer and received excellent treatment from the dental and oral surgery team. This was another pivotal event that influenced Dr. Hoang’s decision to go back to school to become an oral health care provider. He moved to the Bay Area to pursue his dental education at the University of California San Francisco. With a collaborative approach, Dr. Hoang looks forward to working closely with other providers and staff to help you with all your oral health care needs, answer any concerns you might have, and provide support every step of the way. Outside of work, Dr. Hoang is interested in watercolor paintings, home improvement projects, hiking/biking, music, and traveling. His favorite dessert is ice cream, and his favorite place to visit is Japan.
