Fortunately for me, after 40 years since graduating from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery (1984), I can honestly say dentistry is still my favorite hobby. I spent a few years with my first mentor, Dr. Nicholas Vero, an instructor of mine from Columbia, working in his practice in Bergen county. Dr. Nick inspired me to be the best dentist I could be and I modeled my career to follow in his footsteps. In 1987, my wife Christine and I decided on a new location where we could raise a family in an area that we fell in love with - the Chester/Long Valley area. We have loved raising our two sons here and are delighted to be blessed with a grandchild in the same location 37 years later. Family has always been important to us and having patients come into our practice has always felt like having a family visit. I have always said that when new patients come to our practice they become part of our family. Our goal has always been to develop a partnership with our patients so that they can choose the right treatment for their dental needs. Throughout the years, it has been so gratifying to deliver the kind of dental care that has been driven by the patient’s natural physiology. The more aesthetic dentistry I delivered, the more conservative my approach became. If we put teeth where they belong orthodontically and we whiten them along the way, we wind up with a functionally ‘engineered’, naturally beautiful smile.
