Dr. Quintanilla, a sixth-generation Texan, was born and raised in Karnes City, Texas, a rural town about one hour south of Seguin. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was president of the Student Research Group and won multiple awards for his involvement in enamel formation research.
