Mr Mark D. Anderson

Dr. Anderson graduated from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2000. Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Anderson began working as an associate dentist under Dr. Ronald Villars in downtown New Orleans. He practiced dentistry in the CBD (central business district) for 9 years and in August of 2009 opened up Mid-City Smiles Family Dentistry. Over the years Dr. Anderson has completed many hours of continuing education with an emphasis on orthodontic dentistry, including Invisalign certification. He is the leading Invisalign provider in the greater New Orleans area achieving Diamond status since 2021 through Invisalign, a distinction earned by less than 1% of Invisalign providers worldwide. Dr. Anderson is also a lifetime member of the United States Dental Institute, the oldest program in the industry for education of orthodontics for general dentists including traditional straightwire braces and functional appliances. Additionally, he has earned a fellowship with the American Academy of Clear Aligners. Dr. Anderson has also received specialized training for the surgical placement of dental implants. Patients are now able to receive complete dental implant care from start to finish at Mid-City Smiles including the use of digitally guided surgery. Sports Dentistry is another area Dr. Anderson has focused a lot of continuing education and training on. He has been a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry since 2012. Dr. Anderson has helped provide dental/trauma care for local athletes and currently serves as the official team dentist of the New Orleans Pelicans as well as the University of New Orleans Athletics program. Dr. Anderson is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of both the Hispanic Dental Association and the Louisiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also periodically does a dental health radio show on the local Spanish radio channel. Since 2009, Dr. Anderson has been voted every year by his peers as one of New Orleans’ Top Dentists. His most recent profile appeared in the Top Dentists issue of New Orleans Magazine. Dr. Anderson was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and received his undergraduate Bachelor’s degree from LSU in Baton Rouge. His father is also a native New Orleanian (in fact, he was born and raised in the Mid-City area). His mother is a native of Havana, Cuba. He is married to Summer Anderson, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has 2 sons (Luke and Benjamin) and a daughter (Isabelle). He also enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, and playing/watching most sports especially Pelicans, Saints, UNO and all LSU teams. Dr. Anderson is also a member of the Krewe of Endymion, Mardi Gras’ largest parade organization.
