Having practiced dentistry for over 30 years, I still start each day looking forward to what’s to come: meeting new people and working to establish relationships, strengthening connections with established patients, and helping each person to the best of my ability. It gives me great satisfaction when I restore or replace teeth effectively and beautifully. Whether with crowns or veneers I can improve a person’s appearance and self-esteem. I equally enjoy restoring and replacing teeth with dental implants, which give a person improved function and aesthetics. My overall goal is to keep those teeth or restorations working for many years, and that requires my patient to actively care for their oral health. My clinical staff and I devote significant time to educating those in our care. When a person understands why they need to take care of their dental health, and how to keep the oral cavity in optimal condition, they can enjoy a healthier life. This requires developing a trusting relationship with our patient. They must be confident we have their best interests at heart and genuinely care about their wellbeing, and they need to feel safe in our hands. By investing time in getting to know our patients – their interests, experiences, activities, families – we are able to better understand how to help patients on an individual level. These connections are core to the practice, my staff, and my own approach to dentistry. Through ongoing continuing education, I stay current with the latest developments in general dentistry, as well as specialized practices. In addition to a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology, I am a member of the American, Florida, and West Coast dental associations and the Pinnacle Study Club. Through these organizations I take courses, attend meetings, and study the latest literature. Every year I take numerous courses through Spear Education to master full restorative and anterior cases. I have also completed many dental implant continuums through Implant Educators, Implant Seminars, the Misch Implant Institute, and the Pikos Institute.
