Dr. Nik Bowerman was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas where he met his high school sweetheart, Nikke. He attended undergrad at Texas A&M University Kingsville to play football, but his time was cut short due to injury. He soon transferred to Amarillo College for a brief time before finishing out his studies at Texas Tech University where he studied Nutrition with a focus on Pre-Professional Health. He and his wife married soon after leaving Texas Tech just before starting dental and medical school. Dr. Bowerman attended The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio while his wife attended The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. The two of them moved to Charleston with their dachshund, Biscuit, and pomeranian, Winnie, after his wife matched to her residency program at MUSC. The two of them enjoy nutrition and fitness, exploring outdoors, coffee shops, and food spots with their dogs. He chose to persue dentistry after personally dealing with functional and esthetic issues with his smile. He experienced first hand how oral health and confidence in one’s smile can affect their self-esteem, interactions with others, and how they live out their day-to-day. This has made him passionate about helping patients restore and maintain their oral health. Dr. Bowerman is grateful to have the opportunity live in the Lowcountry and serve this community.
