Sako Karakozian, DDS. So, here’s a little about myself! My first name is Sako, pronounced like ‘taco’ – I come from Armenian/Lebanese descent but was born and raised right here in the San Fernando Valley. After high school, I took several courses at Santa Monica College, where I was elected president of the Honor’s Society and a recipient of the SMC Leadership Grant. From there, I transferred to UC San Diego, graduating with a major in Physiology and Neuroscience. I attended the globally recognized New York University College of Dentistry, during which time I held several board positions on the executive student council and selected as the University’s national representative for the American Student Dental Association. After receiving my Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2007, I moved to Las Vegas where I treated patients in private office while simultaneously teaching at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. Since then, I’ve volunteered my time with several non-profits, including Give Kids a Smile, and I was a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Special Smiles program. Accomplishments: Dental Consultant to the television show “The Doctors”, Los Angeles Magazine “Top Dentists of 2018 and 2019”, Clinical Faculty at UNLV School of Dental Medicine.
