Dr Tayyem

Dr. Tayyem is a dedicated and highly skilled dentist who brings a rich international background and a deep passion for patient-centred care. A proud graduate of the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Class of 2020), she is now based in Southern California, where she is committed to delivering high-quality, empathetic dental care to patients from all walks of life. During her time at UPenn, Dr. Tayyem graduated with honours from the Survivors of Torture program—a specialised clinic devoted to treating immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers who have endured emotional, psychological, and physical trauma. This transformative experience shaped her gentle, thoughtful approach and reinforced her belief that dentistry is as much about compassion as it is about clinical excellence. Dr. Tayyem also served as a faculty educator at UCLA, where she enjoyed mentoring and guiding the next generation of dental professionals. Outside of dentistry, she leads an inspiring and multifaceted life. She is a 70.3 Ironman triathlete, an avid traveller and camper, a guest chef, and a refugee program coordinator—continuing her lifelong commitment to uplifting communities in need. With a rare blend of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and humanitarian spirit, Dr. Tayyem offers patients not only exceptional dental care but also a compassionate, personalised experience every step of the way.
