Dr. Julie Spaniel is the new Dental Director of Pioneer Dental Group. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991 and is also in private practice in Tualatin, Oregon. Dr. Spaniel serves on the Board of Trustees for the Oregon Dental Association as an ADA Delegate and is actively involved with the ADA, chairing the Dental Wellness Initiative for the state of Oregon and District 11. She is on the Dental Wellness Advisory Committee for the American Dental Association and served on the first Cohort of ten Wellness Ambassadors to the American Dental Association. Dr. Spaniel is a member of the ADA Council on Communications, the current President of the Academy for Private Dental Practice, and on the board and President-Elect of the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry. She served as immediate past president on the executive board of the Washington County Dental Society. She is an associate clinical professor at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Spaniel is passionate about global healthcare outreach, as the founder of One World Brigades, a mobile dental clinic serving rural Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and Honduras. She also owns and operates a fully established primary school in the Maasai Mara region of Kenya, which serves as a medical and dental clinic during her biannual outreach trips. She has mentored countless youth in her local community, many of whom have pursued careers in dentistry and healthcare. She is also a member of the American Association of Oral Systemic Health, Washington County Dental Society, Tualatin Rotary, Tualatin Chamber of Commerce, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
