A native of Maine, I grew up in a small seaside fishing village as part of a lobstering family before beginning my journey to Orlando. Along the way, I took great care in finding the right community to serve through practice ownership—a place where I could make a meaningful impact. I see my role in the community as more than just a dentist. I strive to be an educator, empowering patients to take control of their oral health, while combining the precision of a skilled technician with the artistry of a perfectionist. I’m thrilled to have found a home in a community that shares my commitment to true excellence. Why did you become a dentist? Growing up in a small rural community, I had little guidance when it came to oral health. It wasn’t until I met a few pivotal mentors in high school that I began to understand how deeply oral health impacts every aspect of our lives. After spending time as a lobsterman, I realized I wanted a career that was more personally rewarding. Helping people achieve their ideal smile and witnessing the transformation in their confidence as they laugh and smile more fulfills my desire to make a meaningful difference in my community. A smile is one of the most powerful gifts we can share with one another, and I’m truly honored by the trust my patients place in me to care for theirs. What is your educational background? My educational journey began with mentorship in high school from Drs. Philip Higgins and David Olivas, who inspired my path in dentistry. I earned a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Pre-Dental from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. After graduation, I took a gap year to work as a full-time lobsterman — a challenging and unforgettable experience. I then pursued a Master of Science degree in Marine Bio-Resources at the University of Maine under the guidance of Dr. Timothy Bowden, a great mentor and lifelong friend. Finally, I attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where I was fortunate to learn from some of the world’s leading clinicians. A standout mentor during my time at Tufts was Dr. Paul Levi, a renowned periodontist who lectures internationally. I also had the privilege of studying with Dr. Gerard Kugel, now Dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. Recognizing the value of lifelong learning early in my career, I’ve been a member of the ADA, AGD, and AACD since 2012, as well as local affiliates in Florida, Ohio, and Kentucky. I consistently seek out continuing education opportunities far beyond licensure requirements to stay at the forefront of my field.
