Dr. Kay Curtis attended Eastern Arizona College, where he was student body president. He went on to Brigham Young University, then the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry (UCSF), graduating in 1957. Commissioned in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), Dr. Kay interned at the USPHS Hospital in Seattle in 1957-58 and served as base dentist at the U.S. Coast Guard air station in Port Angeles, WA, until 1960. He was a USPHS reserve officer until 2011, attaining the rank of captain. Dr. Kay served tours of active duty with the Public Health Service in Barrow, Alaska, and with the US Army at Ft. Irwin, CA, in 2004. He has volunteered dental services in Israel and Honduras. Dr. Kay was assistant professor of crown and bridge prosthetics at UCSF from 1961-1964. He has been in private practice in Safford since 1964. Dr. Kay has served as co-chair of the Dental Advisory Committee to the Arizona Department of Health.
