Dr. Merritt was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, where he grew up playing basketball and baseball. He attended Florida State University as an undergrad and met his wife, Laura, during their first year. The couple then spent four years in Gainesville while Dr. Merritt attended dental school at the University of Florida. The Merritt's were married in May of 2020 and have been living in Pensacola ever since. In their free time, Dr. Merritt and his wife enjoy spending time with friends and family. Dr. Merritt also enjoys fishing, hiking, and almost anything sports related. He is an avid FSU fan, and you can often find him glued to the TV during football season.
