Dr. Mara Mangini’s journey to becoming one of Pittsburgh’s leading prosthodontists is rooted in her deep connection to the city and her commitment to high-quality dental care. A Pittsburgh native, she earned a Bachelor of Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, where her studies in Architecture and Environmental Studies sharpened her attention to detail—an invaluable skill in crafting natural, functional smiles. Inspired by her mother, Dr. Kathryn Duncan Friedman, a pioneer in the dental field, Dr. Mangini returned home to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2011. During dental school, she met her husband and future collaborator, Dr. Nicholas Mangini, forming a professional partnership that continues to transform smiles across Pittsburgh. Dr. Mangini completed a rigorous three-year Prosthodontics residency at the University of Pittsburgh, gaining specialized expertise in full-mouth restorations, dental implants, and complex rehabilitations.
