Dr. Skinkys earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the esteemed University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and received faculty awards for professionalism and clinical excellence. During his schooling, Dr. Skinkys was chosen to complete a comprehensive general practice residency in dentistry at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Lakeview. At Illinois Masonic, he completed rotations through anesthesia, Cook County Hospital’s department of oral surgery, and the IMMC emergency room. In addition, this hospital-setting program gave him advanced training in treating special needs patients and medically compromised patients as well as performing dental sedation. Sedation dentistry is an area of keen interest for Dr. Skinkys because it gives him another effective option for treating the anxious patient. Furthermore, Dr. Skinkys holds an Illinois license to perform dental sedation. He is the current vice president of the Illinois component of the American Dental Sedation Association and a member of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology. Dr. Skinkys is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Association, and the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Skinkys has completed over 500 hours of continuing education since graduating dental school and is committed to providing the most current and technologically advanced techniques to his patients. Dr. Skinkys believes it is essential to provide patient education and customer service along with dentistry that provides results.
