Dr. Schoener received his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University, completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center and completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas-San Antonio. He has served in the US Air Force for 16 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was most recently stationed in England as the Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at RAF Lakenheath and now lives in the Boston area with his wife, who is also a dentist. Currently Dr. Schoener is the Chief of Dental Services in the Massachusetts Air National Guard when doing his reserve duty. Prior to specializing in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Schoener worked as a General Dentist exclusively for 6 years and still continues general dentistry practice. He has numerous publications to his credit, belongs to multiple national and international dental organizations, and is an editorial board member and peer reviewer for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Schoener enjoys learning languages (he speaks Croatian), traveling, spending time with family, and running. He’s competed in the Boston Marathon twice (was the 2nd American Finisher in 2008).
