Michael was born and raised in Pocatello. He graduated from Pocatello High School and then went to BYU-Idaho (then Ricks College) for one year before serving a 2-year mission for the LDS Church in Cape Town, South Africa. He loved his time there and made many close friends he still associates with today. After returning home, he once again attended BYU-Idaho for one year, received his Associate's Degree, and then attended ISU for two years. It was during this time that he met Jan Jensen, one of his dad's dental assistants. They were later married, and after graduating from ISU, they moved to Pittsburgh to attend Dental School. During their four years in Pittsburgh, their daughter Madeline and their son Andrew were born. They loved their time in Pittsburgh but were also excited to return to Idaho and be close to family again. Michael began practicing with his dad (Dr. Godfrey) and his brother-in-law (Dr. Reddish) right away and has been part of Valley View Family Dentistry since 2005. He and Jan now have 2 more boys, with Logan arriving in 2008 and Evan in 2011. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and golfing. He loves living in Pocatello and caring for his patients here.
