Dr. Ilhan Uzel attended Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he earned a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Periodontology and Doctor of Science (D.Sc) in Oral Biology. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 2006. He held faculty positions at Boston University School of Dental Medicine and University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, involved in research on periodontal disease, connective tissue, implantology and bone biology. He coauthored scientific articles and book chapters. Dr. Uzel takes an evidence-based approach to treatment. Outside the office, he enjoys travelling, culinary arts, European cinema, sports, and speaks Turkish, French, English, studying Spanish. He lives in Plainsboro, NJ with his wife and son Doruk.
