Dr. Micah Tanikawa’s passion for dentistry began while studying for his bachelor’s degree at San Diego State University. As the president and co-founder of the SDSU chapter of The Flying Samaritans, he helped bring free dental services to a rural community near Tijuana. He realized he had a passion for providing dental care using science and art to help make a positive impact in underserved communities. After attaining his bachelor’s degree, he went to Western University of Health Sciences to earn his D.M.D. degree. Dr. Tanikawa’s philosophy is to treat every patient with compassionate care. He truly enjoys getting to know his patients while ensuring each visit is a comfortable experience. Dr. Tanikawa has taken many continuing education courses to stay on the cutting edge of patient care. He has advanced training in CAD/CAM technology (same-day crowns) and is a member of the ADA, CDA, and OCDS dental societies. In his free time, Dr. Tanikawa enjoys traveling, finding new restaurants, watching movies, rock climbing, and spending time with his wife and family.
