Dr. Mattie Bertels began her career in dentistry as a dental hygienist. After working with periodontal patients in private practice, she decided to further her education with a degree in dentistry. Mattie graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry in 2017. Immediately following, she stayed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Department of Surgical Specialties, where she completed a three-year Periodontal Residency. Dr. Bertels is excited to relocate to Rapid City. Originally from western Nebraska, Mattie and her husband, Aaron, are looking forward to raising their three young children in the Black Hills. She enjoys cooking, playing the piano and spending time with her family.
