Dr. Dale C. Whilden graduated with his D.M.D. degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation he received numerous awards including the Johnson and Johnson Preventive Dentistry Award, the Academy of Oral Medicine Award, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, and the Academy of Periodontology Award. Throughout his career as a dentist, Dr. Whilden has been recognized multiple times including receiving Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and being awarded as one of America's Top Dentists by the Asbury Park Press as a result of a reader's poll. Among Dr. Whilden's active memberships are the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, the Monmouth County Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Christian Medical and Dental Society. He has also published numerous articles detailing his experiences with Christian Dental Missions, a non-profit organization that he founded and chairs. Christian Dental Missions organizes teams of dentists who travel to remote regions of the world to provide much needed dental care. Dr. Whilden has volunteered in Ecuador, South Korea, India, Haiti, Honduras, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua, and Sierra Leone. Dr. Whilden and his wife, Carol, live in Ocean Grove. Their son and his wife are now living in North Carolina. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, traveling and playing the trumpet with the Praise Team at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Dr. Whilden also serves as a trustee of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association and is on the board of the New York City Rescue Mission.
