Dr. Borchers was raised in Redding, California. Upon graduation from Shasta High School he went to The University of Nebraska where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was the youngest undergraduate chosen to manage the Biological Life Science Lab Department. He was accepted to The University of Nebraska Medical Center Dental School where in his senior year he was awarded top honors in Periodontology and Pathology. Having fallen in love with Periodontology, he applied and was accepted to the Periodontal Residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. In 1991 he earned his certificate in Periodontology and returned home to open a private practice. Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Society of Periodontists, California Dental Association, Oregon Society of Periodontists, Western Academy of Periodontists, Northern California Dental Society and retired faculty at the Shasta College Dental Hygiene School. Though he is no longer performing periodontal surgeries, his knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated as he helps oversee post operative and hygiene appointments.
