Dr. Janer was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 4. She graduated from high school in Puerto Rico, and then went on to graduate from Georgetown University in 1982, with a degree in Biology. After graduating from college, she was involved in research for 3 years before attending and graduating from The University of Texas School of Dentistry, in 1989. Dr. Janer went on to complete a one-year General Dentistry Residency at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Serendipity placed Dr. Janer under the tutelage of Dr. Jackie Duke, where Dr. Janer was a research assistant in her lab for NASA. Dr. Janer graduated first in her dental school class, inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, received awards including The Walter G Sterling Award, Academy of General Dentistry Award, American Academy of Dental Radiology Award, American Equilibration Society Award. Dr. Janer practices General Dentistry. She is married to Javier Janer and together they have 3 children. Dr. Pablo Janer practices with her.
