Dr. Dan Nuckols believes great dentistry starts with listening. His approach is centered on understanding each patients’ unique needs and working together to create personalized solutions that support long-term oral health and overall wellbeing. A proud Virginia native, Dr. Nuckols grew up on his family’s farm in rural southern Virginia. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree in biology from the College of William & Mary, followed by his dental degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry (Class of 2020). He then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the San Antonio Veterans Hospital in Texas, where he received advanced training in comprehensive dental care – focusing on dental implants , dental aesthetics and Invisalign® clear aligners . Since 2021, Dr. Nuckols has been practicing in Virginia and has proudly served the Mechanicsville area since 2023. Passionate about growth and innovation, he takes continuing education courses whenever he can, constantly honing his skills and staying up to date with the latest dental technologies . He is involved in a yearly pediatric dental mission trip to Belize through a local Richmond church. “My goal as a dentist is to always listen to my patients first and then come up with a solution with them that helps to meet their individual needs.” When he’s not in the office, Dr. Nuckols enjoys spending time outdoors, trying new restaurants around Richmond and reading both fiction and biographies. He cherishes time with his wife, their newborn daughter and their loyal dog, Byrdie.
