Dr. Mendia received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Rutgers University. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. After, Dr. Mendia completed his post-doctoral residency in Dental Anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). There are only six Dental Anesthesiology Programs of this kind that provide such vigorous training. Presently, Dr. Mendia offers IV sedation services to pediatric patients, special needs patients, and anxious or dental phobic adults in both dental offices and surgical centers throughout the tri-state area. In addition, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Rutgers University School of Dental Medicine, where he educates post-graduate students both clinically and didactically on sedation services in the dental office. Dr. Mendia aims to minimize patients’ dental fears and ensure that anxious patients feel safe and comfortable during the dental care.
